Amazon has unveiled a new product — a robot that can hear, see and follow you around the home. The robot, called Astro, doesn’t cook or clean, but it can check if you left the oven on while you’re out or send an alert if someone it doesn’t recognize enters the house.

Astro does do some housework: snacks or a can of soda can be put on its back to be taken to someone in a different part of the house.

The $1,000 robot, which will be sent out to customers later this year, was just one of the new devices Amazon unveiled as part of its yearly event.

As well as the robot, Amazon also unveiled a screen — which looks like a picture frame — that can be hung on a wall and includes Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. The company thinks the device, called the Echo Show 15, could be useful in the kitchen by allowing users to see recipes or watch a TV show as they cook.

Amazon also said its Echo listening devices will be put in Disney hotel rooms next year so that guests can order more towels or ask it the fastest way to get to a theme park.
