1. Music streaming service Spotify has revealed its most listened-to artists of 2023. Taylor Swift came out on top this year, with Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny coming in second place.
2. The Weeknd, who was named the World’s Most Popular Artist by Guinness World Records earlier in 2023, came in third. Spotify also revealed the most streamed song in the world — “Flowers,” by Miley Cyrus, which was streamed over 1.6 billion times in 2023.
3. SZA’s “Kill Bill” and “As It Was” by Harry Styles came in second and third. Of course, the most popular artists and songs were different in different parts of the world.

4. For example, in Japan, the most streamed song of 2023 was Yoasobi’s “Idol”. Vaundy’s “Kaiju no Hanauta” was second, and “Subtitle” by Official Hige Dandism was third. Each of the top five songs in the Japanese ranking is sung in Japanese.
5. But in South Korea, the country’s most streamed song, “Seven,” is sung entirely in English. “Seven” is a song from Jungkook, a member of the South Korean boy band BTS. The song also features American rapper Latto.

7. And one of the songs, “Like Crazy,” was on the list twice — the original version, which uses a mix of English and Korean, was the second most streamed song in South Korea. The English-only version of the song came third.
